Two solve this there are two solutions, one is to replace the faulty part with a new item which is costly and the same problem can occur with time. The second solution is to clean the EGR valve and block the EGR pipework with some metal plates which stop the exhaust gasses from being recirculated into the inlet manifold.
Drain the oil, add to level drive approx 10 km, drain again, fill , drive again and fill again. I have done it 3 x times and not twice. Shudder will be gone. My experience is we had an SDV6 also break the crankshaft at about 180,000kms in a similar fashion, knock knock knock, pull over and car died on side of the road. Our fix was to source a lower km second hand motor (ours is a 2012 Disco 4, so it was well out of warranty) after our quote from LR Australia was given to us ($40k).

Really hope someone can give me a bit more advice on my current Disco problems! I have a 2006 Disco 3, TDV6 HSE I have read through many of these blogs and threads and found certain points that I check and replaced where needed, but my landy is still giving me the famous Suspension Lowered, its down on access height, HDC off, Special programs off.
That translates to little over 716 gallons of gas consumed -- at an average of $3 per gallon for the 91-plus-octane premium gas Land Rover required, we shelled out about $2,148 on gas.
